Your Pathway to a Career in Education

Posted On Mar 2, 2023

A career in early childhood education (ECE) provides many opportunities to impact children’s lives positively. Preschool teachers are some of the first adults children will interact with outside of families, and they can set a positive outlook on education. If you are wondering how to become a preschool teacher or if it’s the right career path, here are some perks of the profession.

Job Security

There will always be a high demand for quality educators, including preschool teachers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates the job outlook for preschool teachers is expected to grow by 15% between 2021 and 2031, much faster than average. Becoming a preschool teacher is an excellent option if you are looking for a recession-proof career with a steady paycheck, and benefits.

Fun Work Environment

If working in a repetitive work environment or a sterile office doesn’t appeal to you, a career as a preschool teacher might be a great fit. Preschool teachers work in a vibrant, colorful work setting where no two days are the same. As a preschool teacher, you harness the power of play, sing, dance, and move around a lot.

Creativity is Encouraged

Preschool teachers get to create and maintain a creative and fun environment for their students. Creativity helps kids feel more connected and comfortable in the classroom. A creative environment allows teachers to be more innovative and flexible in their teaching methods and will encourage students to explore their creativity.

Flexible Work Schedule

Preschool teachers often get the benefits of having a flexible work schedule. This can allow for more personal and family time. A flexible schedule is an essential advantage for preschool teachers because it will enable them to be more available for their families and have more time to pursue their interests outside of work. Teachers also get more vacation time than other career professionals, and rarely work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
